What is a refurbished mattress?

At Morningstar Sleeps, you get 100 nights to try out your new mattress. If the mattress doesn’t meet your sleep needs, no problem. We’ll collect it from your home. These mattresses are thoroughly cleaned and, where necessary, fitted with a new mattress cover. They are then offered as refurbished mattresses, which have been used for a maximum of 100 nights, though usually fewer than 40. The quality of these mattresses is still comparable to a brand-new one. The Stellar mattress remains the best-rated mattress in the Netherlands. Discover why for yourself!

Does the 100-night trial apply to refurbished mattresses?

Absolutely! Even when purchasing a refurbished mattress, you’re entitled to a sleep trial. We believe it’s important that you’re confident the mattress suits your sleep needs. Please note that return costs will be deducted in the event of a return. Since we offer refurbished mattresses below cost price, we’re unfortunately unable to cover these costs. The return fee is €75 for a single mattress and €100 for a double mattress.

How is the mattress delivered?

After being returned to us, these mattresses are not vacuum-sealed again. This means they are slightly bulkier. Double mattresses are delivered folded in half, while single mattresses are wrapped in plastic in their original size. This ensures the mattress is delivered in the highest quality condition.

What is the expected delivery time for refurbished mattresses?

Refurbished mattresses are typically handed over to PostNL Extra@Home once every 7 days, on Tuesdays.

Can I dispose of my old mattress with you?

Make life easier for yourself—no hassle with your old mattress! During the ordering process, after entering your postcode, simply select the option to have your old mattress collected by our delivery team. Everything is sorted in one go, with no extra effort required. The cost for this service is €45.

How do I know if the refurbished Stellar mattress is right for me?

Let’s be honest, there’s no mattress that suits absolutely everyone. However, thanks to its adaptability, the Stellar Mattress comes very close. By allowing you to adjust both the firmness and the zoned support, around 94% of users are satisfied. For the other 6%, we offer a sleep trial. Those returned mattresses are carefully cleaned, checked and offered again as refurbished models.

Is the refurbished mattress suitable for my body weight?

During development, we designed the mattress to suit body weights between 45 kg and 120 kg. With its adjustable firmness, you can tailor the mattress to your own weight. As a guideline, we recommend the firmer side for anyone over 75 kg and the softer side for those under 75 kg. Comfort is always personal, so you are free to try both and see what feels best for you.

How long should I wait after unpacking before using the refurbished mattress?

The refurbished mattress is ready to use straight after unpacking. Because we don’t vacuum-seal returned mattresses again, there’s no need for it to expand or settle.

Can my refurbished mattress develop sagging?

Sagging is common in many mattresses, especially as they get older or if they are made with lower-quality materials. Our refurbished mattresses come with a five-year guarantee against sagging, because we are confident in their durability. We use only premium foams that are highly resistant to sagging.

Is the mattress cover washable? And at what temperature?

Yes, absolutely. The removable cover can be washed at up to 40°C. It is important not to exceed this, as higher temperatures can damage the natural Tencel fibres. If you ever come across claims that a Tencel cover can be washed at 60°C, those are incorrect. For best care, we recommend washing the cover at least once a year.

How thick is the refurbished mattress?

The refurbished mattress is approximately 25 cm thick.
