Rustic oak wood.
High-quality rustic oak exudes character. That is why our selection process takes place carefully. Large irregularities such as knots and cracks are not accepted in our wooden beams, while small imperfections or color differences are more than welcome. We always look for the perfect balance between coarse and refined.
Because the wood has to withstand the humidity in the bedroom, the beams have been dried artificially. The material was then sanded, after which a matte coating was added for an extra piece of protection and a subtle final effect. The edges of the bed are neatly rounded, so that the whole does not look too hard.
Laser-cut steel.
The strong steel support structure of the bed is made possible by fully automated laser machines. Because the machines cut accurately to a tenth of a millimetre, waste is kept to a minimum and the costs of the steel are kept low.
Want to know more about this process? We use the solid S235 structural steel, which often forms the basis of heavy structures such as bridges and high buildings. One large sheet is cut into several parts, then folded to within half a degree to the desired shape and finally sprayed with a matt black powder coating in a fine structure. The sturdy, industrial beams form an interesting contrast to the natural and soothing character of the wood.
