The Morningstar Sleeps wooden bed catches the eye thanks to the unique lower frame with the legs placed slightly inwards. In this way, the legs are not visible to the naked eye, so that the bed exudes a spaciousness that brings tranquility to the bedroom. Thanks to the large open space under the bed, your mattress also ventilates optimally. Even better: vacuuming under the bed is now a breeze!
That can take a beating
Our oak beams are of the highest quality and carefully selected to give your wooden bed an authentic look. We like small irregularities in the wood, but major deviations are excluded. For example, the wooden construction of the bed forms an attractive whole, without specific points drawing too much attention.
The 4 centimeter thick oak beams have been artificially dried to a moisture content of only 8 to 12 percent. As a result, the wood will survive well in the average bedroom. For a refined effect, the beams have been sanded and the sharp edges provided with a small radius. The matte lacquer also offers a bit of refinement and protection.
Thanks to a fully automated and extremely efficient cutting process, our steel beams are realized in the bed at an affordable price. Good for your wallet and good for the environment.
Curious about this process? A large sheet of the sturdy S235 structural steel (often used in bridges and apartment buildings) is cut into multiple units by a laser machine. Because this cutting process is accurate to a tenth of a millimeter, there is no waste of material and waste production. The steel elements are deburred and placed in their final model. Finally, they are given a matt look by means of a fine-textured powder coating. A striking contrast to the rustic oak wood.
