Rustic oak wood.
Wood should not be perfect, but certainly not too coarse either. That is why we carefully select our wooden beams. We allow small imperfections, but not large cracks and knots. For example, we only supply beds with an authentic, yet refined appearance.
The wooden beams are artificially dried and are therefore resistant to the average bedroom climate. After drying, the wood is sanded and the sharp parts neatly rounded. For a subtle finish, we add a matte coating, which also offers protection against dirt and stains.
Laser-cut steel.
We use our automated laser machines to cut the steel parts of the bed at an attractive price. Because there is no material waste in this process, not only your wallet, but also the environment is saved.
How this works? Firstly, we take a large sheet of S235 structural steel, which is also often used in heavy structures such as bridges and buildings due to its strong properties. From this, our laser machine cuts several steel components with an accuracy of one tenth of a millimetre, which are then deburred and folded into the correct shape. Because the material is cut so precisely, little waste is left behind. Finally, the steel is given a matt coating with a fine structure, which contrasts beautifully with the lighter and rustic wood.
