You place your order, we do the rest. After a telephone conversation in which we determine a delivery time, we will prepare your bed immediately. If you opt for the Morningstar Sleeps wooden bed, you opt for character in the bedroom. The rustic oak beams have been selected by us with great care, allowing small imperfections and color differences in the wood, but excluding major deviations. This way your bed retains its authentic look, without it becoming too coarse.
Because the wood has been dried artificially, the bed can withstand the humidity in the average bedroom. After drying, the wood was sanded, the sharp edges of the beams were carefully rounded and the material was coated with a matt varnish. The varnish not only produces a subtle effect, but also protects the wood against moisture and dirt.
The no less than 3 millimeter thick steel beams of the bed consist of the highest quality S235 steel, a strong type of steel that is also widely used in large constructions such as bridges and apartment buildings. Because the beams are cut by fully automated machines, we are able to keep the costs of this process low. This process also hardly produces any waste, because the beams are cut to a tenth of a millimetre accurately cut. After the steel parts have been bent to their desired shape, they are finished with a matt black fine structure powder coating. The result? A bed with a solid base and a rough, but natural look.
