Rustic oak wood.
We love the authentic character of rustic oak. That is why we select our wooden beams in such a way that small, natural imperfections are approved, but large irregularities such as knots and cracks are eliminated. In this way, the bed retains its natural appearance, without the whole looking messy.
The beams are artificially dried to a low moisture content, making the wood strong enough for the humidity in the average bedroom. To give the beams their refined look, we first sanded the wood, then provided the sharp parts with a small radius and finally painted the beams with a matt coating. This coating provides a natural effect and strong protection against external influences.
Laser-cut steel.
We work with fully automated machines for the steel construction of the bed. This means high efficiency and therefore low costs for the implementation of the steel in the bed.
How does that work exactly? First of all, a full sheet of the strong S235 structural steel (often used for large construction projects such as bridges and apartment buildings) is accurately cut into several steel parts of 3 millimeters thick. Hardly any material is lost in this process. The steel beams are then deburred and placed in their final shape. Finally, a matt black powder coating with a fine structure ensures a sleek end result and a beautiful contrast with the rustic wood.
