Rustic oak wood.
Robust and atmospheric: that’s what oak stands for. We have carefully selected the bed’s oak beams. Large knots and cracks have been left out, but we like to keep small irregularities and colour differences. After all, these give the bed the rustic and characteristic look it is known for.
The beams of the bed are 4 centimetres thick and feature a subtle finish. The wood is first artificially dried to a moisture content of 8 to 12 per cent. This makes the wood resistant to the average indoor climate. The beams were then sanded and the sharp edges neatly rounded. The matt lacquer finally creates a subtle effect and protects against dirt and moisture.
Laser-cut steel.
The bed’s 3-millimetre-thick steel beams consist of the highest quality S235 structural steel. This strong material is also used for large structures such as bridges and apartment buildings. Because the beams are cut by fully automated machines, we can integrate the steel at an economical price. This process also produces hardly any waste, as the beams are cut to the nearest tenth of a millimetre. After the steel parts are bent into their final shape, they are finished with a matt black fine-textured powder coating. The result? A bed with a solid base and a rugged look.
