Rustic oak wood.
The oak beams of the Morningstar Sleeps bed have been carefully selected by us. Large irregularities such as cracks and knots have been eliminated, while small imperfections and color differences are welcome. Thanks to these details, the wood gets that rustic look that we love so much.
The wooden beams of the bed are no less than 4 centimeters thick and have been artificially dried to a moisture content of 8 to 12 percent. This makes the bed extremely suitable for the average indoor climate. To give the robust beams that bit of refinement, they have been neatly sanded and finally put in the matt lacquer. The varnish also protects the wood against dirt and moisture.

Laser-cut steel.
We use fully automated machines for the steel construction of the bed. An efficient process, where costs are kept low.
Curious about how it works? A full sheet of S235 structural steel (often used for large construction projects such as bridges and apartment buildings) is accurately cut into several steel parts of 3 millimeters thick. Hardly any material is lost in this process. The steel beams are then deburred and placed in their final shape. Finally, a matt black powder coating with a fine structure ensures a sleek end result and a special contrast with the rustic wood.
